TFB 008: How a soup business won on Dragons’ Den

With co-founder of Watmuff & Beckett, Andrew Watmuff.

Many startups and entrepreneurs dream of appearing on Dragons’ Den – the UK Version of US TV show Shark Tank – but Andrew Watmuff actually did it, and won!

As the co-founder of Watmuff & Beckett, Andrew is on a mission to take UK farm produce and make delicious ready to eat soups and risottos.

His business partner Michael Beckett is a Michelin star trained chef so his recipes make for a tasty combination and they are already on sale in major UK supermarkets.

In this show we hear from Andrew about what it’s REALLY like in the Den, how much of a PR risk it was to do the show, how Andrew prepared with Class: PR’s FAMOUS course – and how winning the show led to 6,000 web hits a second!

Andrew’s story is a brilliant insight to a high wire, win all/lose all approach to PR. The key learning? Have a brilliant business and prepare until you drop!
